May 18, 2008: Shortly after it passed a Russian test, the SuiZhou-based Chinese automaker ChengLiWei Auto has secured a $1600000 auto export contract with Russian partner AutoMir, local newspaper HuBei Evening News reported today.
This is the largest single auto export contract that a Chinese company has ever signed with a Russia company, the newspapers said. Under the contract, ChengLi Auto will export 1000 units in the next three years.
ChengLi has established an assembly line in Russia this year and the company plans to sell 600 vehicles in Russia next year and 6000 units annually by 2010, according to Cheng A Luo, general manager of ChengLi Group.
